How to Start and Stop Your Zomax Chainsaw (General):
Before starting:
- Clear the area of people and pets.
- Check fuel, chain tension, and bar chain oil reservoir.
To Start:
- Set the chainsaw on the ground and disengage the chain brake.
- Turn the switch ON.
- Press primer (if applicable).
- Pull out the choke knob (do not touch the throttle control).
- Hold the front handle with the left hand and step on the boot loop with the right foot.
- Pull the starter rope 5 times.
- Push the choke knob in and pull the starter rope 3-5 times more to start.
- The chain will be spinning at a fast idle – press the throttle lockout and release trigger to stop the chain.
- Let it warm up for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Press the throttle lockout and squeeze the trigger to cut.
To Stop:
- Release the throttle control.
- Switch to STOP.
- Wait for the chain to stop completely.
- For an emergency stop, push the chain brake lever and hand guard forward, then move the switch to the STOP position.
