Carburetor – General Chainsaw Adjustment
Adjusting the carburettor involves adjusting the engine to the local conditions e.g. climate, altitude, fuel and type of two-stroke oil. The carburettor is equipped with three adjustment options.
L = Low speed jet
H = High speed jet
T = Idling adjustment screw
The L and H jets adjust the fuel flow to match the airflow that the throttle valve opening allows. Turning them clockwise makes the fuel/air mixture weaker (less fuel in relation to the amount of air) and turning them anti-clockwise makes the fuel/air mixture richer. A weak mixture increases the engine speed and a rich mixture decreases the engine speed. The T screw controls the throttle position when idling. Turning the T screw clockwise gives faster idling; turning it anti-clockwise lowers idling speed (see manual for complete guide).

The Husky 445 II Chainsaw is an ideal saw for a user looking for professional performance in a smaller size and is easier to use. The ergonomic design means the saw is easier to handle. The 45.7cm³ X-Torq engine with a power output rating of 2.1kW, this chainsaw is capable of carrying out most tasks around the home or farm.
Husqvarna’s X-Torq technology allows for 25% less fuel consumption whilst reducing emissions by up to 75%. This second-generation saw packs all the features Husqvarna have created to give the user the best possible experience whilst using the saw. An auto-return switch allows for the saw to be easily restarted after the machine has been switched off. The combined choke/stop control also reduces the risk of engine flooding.
This chainsaw has distinct felling marks on its body, helping to improve felling precision. The fuel tank has a transparent fuel indicator which makes it easier for the user to keep track of the fuel levels.
A side-mounted chain tensioner helps to make any required chain adjustments quick and easy. An inertia-activated chain break allays fear of injury through kickback. Once the machine has a kickback or sudden upwards movement the chain saw will automatically cut off power meaning there is less chance of user injury. A forged three-piece crankshaft for maximum durability allows the saw to handle the toughest applications.
Features
SmartStart
The engine and starter have been designed so the machine starts quickly with minimum effort. Resistance in the starter cord is reduced by up to 40%.
X-Torq Engine
Deliver lower fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emission levels in accordance with the world´s most stringent environmental regulations.
Air Injection
Centrifugal air cleaning system for reduced wear and longer operating time between filter cleanings.
Combined Choke/Stop Control
Combined choke/stop control allows for easier starting and reduces the risk of engine flooding.
LowVib
Effective anti-vibration dampeners absorb vibration, sparing the user’s arms and hands. This system is designed to lower the levels of vibrations in the chainsaw, and it does this through the dampeners applied to the inners of the saw, making the engine sit apart from the body and thus reducing the vibrations.
Quick-Release Cap
The quick release cap allows the user to easily access the air filter in need of cleaning or replacing. The snap-lock feature on the cylinder cap ensures quick and easy replacing spark plugs very simple.
