Carburetor – General Chainsaw Adjustment

Adjusting the carburettor involves adjusting the engine to the local conditions e.g. climate, altitude, fuel and type of two-stroke oil. The carburettor is equipped with three adjustment options.
L = Low speed jet
H = High speed jet
T = Idling adjustment screw

The L and H jets adjust the fuel flow to match the airflow that the throttle valve opening allows. Turning them clockwise makes the fuel/air mixture weaker (less fuel in relation to the amount of air) and turning them anti-clockwise makes the fuel/air mixture richer. A weak mixture increases the engine speed and a rich mixture decreases the engine speed. The T screw controls the throttle position when idling. Turning the T screw clockwise gives faster idling; turning it anti-clockwise lowers idling speed (see manual for complete guide).

The Husky 545 Mark II chainsaw is a second generation saw suitable for Felling, Limbing, and Bucking Small to Midsize Trees
The redesign of the Husqvarna 545 Mark II chainsaw improves upon the cutting capacity, maneuverability, and endurance of the previous model. It also has more power over a wider RPM range than the 545’s first iteration. With 13% higher cooling capacity than Husqvarna’s previous generation of 50cc chainsaws, the brand looks to make this chainsaw part of a lineup that covers all professional applications.

The Husqvarna 545 Mark II (second generation) replaced by the 545 (first generation) chainsaw.

The Husqvarna 545 Mark II is a 50cc chainsaw that has been designed specifically for the felling, limbing, and bucking of small to midsize trees. With ramped-up horsepower and torque, the 2nd gen 545 can handle anywhere from a 13″ bar to a 20″ bar (as opposed to the hard 13″ bar requirement of the 1st model). It cranks out 3.6 hp and a max 9900 rpm.

The Husqvarna 545 Mark II chainsaw also features a slimmed-down profile with a lighter weight and lower center of gravity. At 11.7 lbs, this saw is more balanced and comfortable, resulting in much less user fatigue than the first model.

545 Mark II chainsaws features a LowVib anti-vibration system designed to lessen fatigue by reducing the amount of vibration felt. Retained bar nuts keep you from losing any of the important pieces when you go to adjust your bar as well. Finally, this saw brings back the brand’s Smart Start feature, which keeps you from throwing your back out every time you start up.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Well balanced
  • Improved cooling
  • Easy to start & use
  • Powerful for medium usage

Cons

  • Pricey brought new
  • Might be tricky to start on cold

Features

  • Magnesium crankcase
  • Husqvarna 20-inch to 24 inch 545 Mark II gas/petrol chainsaw is ideal for tasks such as professional tree work and land clearing
  • 3.6-HP X-Torq engine reduces fuel consumption and gasoline emissions
  • LowVib anti-vibration system reduces vibration levels for the operator
  • Side-mounted tensioning system allows for quick adjustments chain while working
  • Smart Start starter helps the gas chainsaw start quickly with minimal effort
  • Inertia-activated chain brake on the gas chainsaw reduces the likelihood of injury due to kickback
  • AutoTune carburetor delivers optimal engine performance in any environment
  • Husqvarna X-Cut chain and X-Force bar included with the gas chainsaw ensure precision cutting performance
  • Quick-release air filter for easy cleaning and replacement. Air Purge removes air from carburetor and fuel system for easy starting

The 545 Mark II chainsaw will start irrespective of the altitude or temperature. One of the key focus points for Husqvarna while designing this chainsaw was to make sure that it works even in extreme climates. Whether you’re out in freezing cold snow or in scorching hot climate.

The 545 Mark II saw was created with the harvest forestry and urban forestry sectors in mind. To improve performance, Husqvarna upgraded their X-Torq engine so it puts out even more RPM than before. The 545 Mark II has 8% more power with 4% more torque compared to the first generation 545. The 545 Mark II’s tank lasts 14% longer compared to the old 545, and cutting performance is 25% better.

A new AutoTune system that adjusts the carburetor electronically depending on changes in altitude, fuel type, temperature, etc. This ensures your saw will never stall or fail to start even under extreme conditions.

The new Mark II crankcase is built with a Magnesium alloy which reduces weight and improves high rpm performance. The flywheel is also lighter than before, so there are less gyroscopic forces acting upon the wrist of the user as the saw is moved around. Which results in less user fatigue over time.

The 545 Mark II has improved cooling capacity over the first generation 545, thanks to new airflow channels and the addition of extra cooling fins in critical areas. Husqvarna also came up with a new heat shield that seals the cylinder area and reduces heat leakage. Overall, the 545 Mark II dissipates heat 13% faster than the first generation 545.
